Nelly Miles Appointed as Georgia State Liaison for the National Association of Professional Staff in Public Safety

Stockbridge, GA — April 6, 2026 — Nelly Miles, founder and principal of Nelly Miles Consulting and retired Director of Public and Governmental Affairs for the Georgia Bureau of Investigation, has been appointed as the Georgia State Liaison for the National Association of Professional Staff in Public Safety (NAPSPS).

In this role, Miles will serve as a key connector and advocate for professional staff working across public safety agencies throughout Georgia. She will support efforts to strengthen collaboration, enhance professional development, and elevate the critical contributions of non-sworn professionals within the field.

As Georgia State Liaison, Miles will work to connect professional staff members across the state with peers locally and nationally, helping to build a stronger, more unified professional network.

Miles brings 26 years of public service experience, including serving as the chief spokesperson and legislative liaison for the Georgia Bureau of Investigation. She has led communications on some of the state’s most high-profile cases and is widely recognized for her expertise in crisis communications, media strategy, and public safety messaging.

Through Nelly Miles Consulting, she now advises public safety and government leaders on crisis communications strategy, executive communication, and leadership development.
